What is Cloutlighting?
According to https://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcthree/article/2f85d272-c509-4d2c-86bf-d4ed4f4e6d9b, Cloutlighting is when someone “does something to intentionally upset their partner” that is often seen as a “prank, or a deliberate attempt to pick an argument.” The pranker then films the reaction of their significant other and posts it online for the purpose of social media views and likes.
Problems of Cloutlighting:
- Can cause trust issues in relationships
- Can be very abusive
- Very hurtful to partner
- Sets an influence for viewers to also try those acts on their partners as well
